My son suffers from anxiety, but thankfully when Michele greets J everything fades away. She is loving and enthusiastic; she’s knowledgeable and kind.
We first met Michele when she was taking care of my son J in the PICU. He was only a couple weeks old and he had just had open heart surgery. The TGA surgery had some complications: he was put on ECMO and suffered three strokes. She was so wonderful and so loving to our sweet boy who had just been through hell. Not to mention mom and dad who were exhausted and scared. Michele was a calm in our storm. She always explained everything she was doing when she would check on my son and she would check on us as well. Fast forward 7 years my son had to have heel cord surgery and which nurse happened to be there? Yes, it was Michele—coincidence, I think not. God knew my son was scared and Michele was the only one who could calm him. All of my attempts and my Husband’s attempts to calm or distract him were not working. My son suffers from anxiety, but thankfully when Michele greets J everything fades away. She is loving and enthusiastic; she’s knowledgeable and kind. When he has to have Botox injections, she is there to get him through the process. I can't even explain how much that blesses me because anxiety is exhausting for the caregiver as well. She has even been known to move her schedule so she can make sure she is there when J has an appointment. She goes above and beyond. She is AMAZING!!! We were blessed to have Michele as my son's nurse 17 years ago, but what a gift it has been that we have been able to have her several different times over these 17 years!
