I wanted to give Jamie RN big Kudos for her actions this morning on acute. During the bed meeting when everyone was off the floor, Jamie was in the acute nurse's station and noticed that several patients had elevated heart rates. In particular, was a young man who was oscillating between the 100 is and up to 180s. Jamie went to the bed meeting and informed the doctor and the staff of their concerns. Jamie then went back to check on the patient, making him comfortable and answering his questions and concerns while reassuring him that the Dr. would be taking care of him. She continued to monitor the patient from the nurse's station and informed me of the situation. Jamie continued to advocate for the patient and enlisted the charge nurse to investigate the previous episode that was managed by the doctor on an earlier shift. Jamie advised the Charge nurse and encouraged continuing advocacy for the patient. She offered further support to the charge nurse (as did l) in advocating for the patient's best interest. Again, Jamie impresses me with her dedication to all the patients at MAH with her passionate advocacy for the best patient care we can give! She proves time and time again her truly extraordinary level of caring and knowledge for doing what is best for our patients. This nurse continues to be one of my first choices when I am a patient here!
