Charlene was an amazing nurse for me. She gave me so much understanding and comfort. Always making sure that I'm okay and settled. She understood and listened to my concerns regarding my autism and PTSD and made sure that I was cared for in a way that was less stressful for my disability and sensory needs. I suffer really badly from anxiety and panic attacks and because of Charlene I was made to feel safe and listened to. I've never had a positive experience before such as this. It's the only time I have been in hospital and felt safe and supported. Charlene was on hand for all my needs without making me feel like a burden or a problem. She communicated my needs thoroughly at handovers so that all night staff was able to deal with my needs as well as she has done. She also supported me through Doctor's appointments in the ward as I requested.

Charlene really went above and beyond offering me comfort and support. Her compassion and care are clear towards all patients and she goes above and beyond for everyone she works with. I have absolutely no complaints and she is an amazing asset to Kettering General Hospital and its team. Covid-19 has been tough on many nurses and I really feel like she deserves recognition for the work and care that she shows both staff and patients, often going above and beyond for us. I even drew Charlene a photo with #1 nurse written on it. She is absolutely amazing and answered all of my questions with no hesitations or annoyance. She kept me up to date with the whole process and kept me calm all the way through.
