The uncommon compassion, empathy, and professionalism the caregivers demonstrated is something that my family will forever hold in our hearts.
I hope this email finds you all doing well. I wanted to reach out to express my sincere appreciation for the care that my grandfather, received at AdventHealth Celebration during his last two weeks of life. During this time, he underwent many procedures which led to a diagnosis of AML. While we are deeply saddened by our loss, the tests he endured led to experiences with many truly remarkable Celebration team members. The sincere interactions they had with him, and my family epitomized our organization’s mission. First and foremost, words can never express my family’s sincere gratitude, love, and admiration for Stacy Livingstone, Carina Diaz, and the entire C5SU team. This team truly went above and beyond each day to make my grandfather as comfortable as possible. There are many instances that come to mind, but a few examples are:

The fact that my grandfather had a shower or was cleaned bedside each day. As a veteran, showering each day was something that was extremely important to him. His nurses and techs honored this request and did so with a smile.

Having ice-water bedside was also something he had for his 87 years of life. When he started to digress quickly, my mom called the unit one evening to request that it was there for him. They informed her that they “knew Mr. J liked his ice water” and they already had it there for him within arm’s reach.

In his final hours, his doctor ordered him medication q 30 to keep him comfortable. Never once did he have to wait even a minute–the nurses were there the second the dose became available. For this fact alone, my family could honestly never express just how grateful and appreciative we are.

The uncommon compassion, empathy, and professionalism the caregivers demonstrated is something that my family will forever hold in our hearts. Thank you for leading them in a way in which they can bring their best self to work each day and touch the lives of so many.
