Sasha works with great efficiency, and she is such a skilled nurse. I was one of her first patients when she came to Duke, and she was talented, skilled, and confident. One moment meant the world to me. I was telling her how I missed my sisters (they live in New York, and I have not seen them in 2 ½ years). Well, I began to cry, and she took my hand in hers, and she became that “girlfriend” every woman needs. We had a wonderful talk, and I let the moment pass and got back to my treatment. She is a compassionate listener, fun-loving, and a wonderful mother to her two boys. She loves the work she is doing at Duke, and she understands how important each patient is. Sasha swings by on Wednesdays to see how I am doing. I love to hear her speaking to the patient behind the curtain. She treats every patient with such kindness.
