Pam was my absolute favorite nurse during my labor experience. She came in first thing in the morning after I’d already had a long, difficult night of back labor; and guided me. She told me that I needed to switch positions to “move things along” and how and when I was gong to do it. She moved furniture around the room to make it possible and showed my friend how to help me when the back labor was too intense to bear. In fact, she was only with me for 2 hours before she was called away, but those 2 hours impacted me and the rest of my labor which lasted into the late evening.

I was so tired and could not lie down because of the pain in my back. I asked if Pam could come back and help to show my friend how to do counter pressure on my back. Lo and behold, she was able to return which gave me such great reassurance. What she said to me was that by getting an epidural, I would not be giving up the experience of giving birth to my son; and that was the thing I needed to hear in order to allow myself to do that. She said the words in such a loving, caring, and kind way for which I was grateful. She made sure to come visit us in maternity after my delivery. I really love Pam and am so appreciative of her presence and compassion as well as her matter-of-fact manner. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
