Katherine is an INCREDIBLE nurse. I was blessed enough to be able to shadow her for my clinical day. She explains concepts so clearly and well. She cared about my learning experience. She always made sure to give me every possible learning opportunity on the unit. She went above and beyond. She is so passionate about Pediatric Nursing. She pays attention to detail and does the little things for a patient that go a long way. Even though the patient was sedated, Katherine made the effort to clean her, head to toe, thoroughly before the Mom came to the unit. She made sure that the patient was comfortable in the positions we had to put her in even though she was asleep and it is not like she would know. She even made sure to keep the patient's blanket in her hand. She treated this patient with so much respect and dignity. Honestly, I did not think about becoming a pediatric nurse until I met Katherine. I see myself being in PICU one day because of her. She is a DAISY Nurse!
