I would come to tears when I saw she was assigned my baby because I had such confidence in her to care for him.
My son, "D," was admitted to the PICU for a week for respiratory distress. During this time, we had several wonderful nurses; however, Sarah Moody absolutely SHINED. Sarah immediately saw my discomfort - I was crying outside of my son's room, and, on top of her already busy night, she took on the task of helping my baby, soothing him, and giving him some extra love. She kept me informed and fed my baby in the middle of the night several times because she saw how absolutely drained I was. She told me, "don't worry mom, go lay down, you need sleep. I will feed him. I love the time I get to spend with him." This made my heart so so happy. She held my son's hand and comforted him as if he was her own. The PICU is a scary place for any child to be and unnerving for any parent. I would come to tears when I saw she was assigned my baby because I had such confidence in her to care for him. I don't know how I would have gotten through this entire nightmare without her. She was born for this. She hugged me as she was ending her shift and assured me that my baby would be okay. I cannot express enough my absolute gratitude. Saint Peter's is lucky to have such a wonderful, caring, compassionate provider like Sarah. I will never forget her, and because of her, my experience was five stars. If anyone deserves this recognition, it should be her. I would be totally heartbroken if she is not; she is an Angel. Thank you.
