I nominated Susan because of her continued dedication to hospice patients and our hospice team. Recently, Susan has gone above and beyond by working longer than intended or coming in extra for the safety of the unit (staffing concerns). She did this without being instructed to because, with her years of experience, she knew that the additional was necessary considering the acuity of the unit. This is in addition to the above and beyond care she always provides her patients. She is a one-of-a-kind nurse, teammate, and natural nurse leader. She is the kind of nurse I aspire to be.
