Kristine started her career with GRMC six years ago in the Emergency Department. She has worked her way up in her short career as a successful manager in the ICU. She received 6 nominations for the DAISY Award. Below are excerpts of what her nominees have said about her:

She exhibits everything you envision when thinking about what a nurse should be. She shows compassion to all family members and staff. Kristine's day-to-day interactions with some of the "more challenging" patients and tasks never seem to deter her from the mission of providing quality care. Her compassion is not only with her patients but with her colleagues as well. She genuinely loves what she does and it shows through her enthusiasm to educate others in a way that makes them feel accomplished and competent. When a nurse is going through a difficult time or has an emergency, she goes out of her way to make any accommodations possible with staffing so that the nurse can attend to their family or personal matter.

Within a few months KC took over as manager, she's made positive changes to the department and the morale has changed for the better. Before big decisions are made that would affect the staff, KC asks for input and truly listens. She keeps her door open to everyone and is easy to talk to. She will come in to check on the night shift and never hesitates to help bedside and is the first to do compressions when there is a code.
