I found out at 18 weeks that my baby had no heartbeat. I had to make the difficult decision to deliver. Katie was the registered nurse on the day of my induction. Katie was the most amazing nurse I could have asked for in a situation like this. Alongside my doctor she explained everything to me and what I can expect. I was prepped and comfortable but not only was she attentive and great to me but also to my spouse. She was so calm and collected which helped me and my husband. With every step of the process, she was there to keep me calm and comfortable and walk us through it. It was such a difficult day but Katie was there both physically and emotionally. She went above and beyond to help deliver and then give us the time needed with our baby girl. She helped capture the moments I wanted and gave us space when she could tell we needed some. She helped make this delivery as “normal” as possible by giving our little baby a bow and special size blanket.

Katie loved on our tiny baby like she would any other baby. My baby was born during the pandemic so the extended family was not allowed other than my spouse. She was able to keep my family updated with everything I asked her to share which made me feel as normal as possible. I will never forget our nurse Katie and the amount of love and support she gave us. We are from a small community so when I got pregnant with our rainbow baby we were so lucky to have her again for that delivery as well. She just goes above and beyond for us and I can tell she truly cares and is very passionate about her job. I hope one day I can show love, comfort, compassion, and care as she did to us.
