Phu, along with 3 West ICU nurses assisted the nurse educator in forming the Team Nursing Model and continued to work on it while gathering input from staff.
Phu has grown so much since he started working in the Coronary Intensive Care Unit (CCU). He confidentially cares for 1:1 critical patients and precepts new orientees. He had to put much of his time into creating a workable environment during the crisis while caring for ICU patients with ratios of 1:2 to 1:4. He took the time to gather everyone’s input on what supplies we needed or used often. When the second wave of COVID hit the CCU, CCU closed a second time to accommodate ICU COVID in ER and the PCU rooms were converted into ICU rooms. Phu, along with 3 West ICU nurses assisted the nurse educator in forming the Team Nursing Model and continued to work on it while gathering input from staff. He stays busy and, when he can, asks staff if they need help. He, himself, is not shy or too proud to ask for assistance. He is a very calm and respectful person. He is admired for his calm, respectful, and thoughtful nature.
