Kim Chant has been supporting the DAISY Award Program through her role as the DAISY coordinator. During this time, she has shown nurses how much they make a difference in the lives of patients and co-workers by managing the nomination, assessment, and awards ceremony processes around all DAISY Awards – this is a huge undertaking for a system of 4 campuses.

Each time I have been able to witness Kim’s involvement in the DAISY Award presentations she is amazing. She is organized, consistent, genuine, and clearly there to ensure that the nurse receiving the Award knows how much they matter and knows the value that we as a team and organization place on exceptional patient care.

As a nurse, few traits are more important than the willingness to elevate the vocation of nursing by uplifting your fellow nurses and motivating each of them to excel in patient care. This is a trait I have seen Kim exhibit many times in her commitment to championing the DAISY Award at all our locations and her authentic love and appreciation for bedside nurses. I feel that it is fitting that Kim be the recipient of this Award in recognition of all her efforts to support our team and our patients through her many roles as a nurse, but most importantly, that of DAISY Coordinator.
