Sherry's effort to help my brother resulted in his having the comfort to have someone by his side during his final days and me having the opportunity to be with the brother I loved.
Nurse Sherry of 2 South contacted me via phone to let me know my brother was in the hospital; his cancer had returned, and he was in need of help. Due to his mental illness, we had been estranged for the past four years. During that time, I had worried about him, his health, and the fact that he had dismissed everyone from his life, leaving him to live his life alone. Desperate to go home from the hospital after being there for almost three months, he asked Sherry to call me. He could no longer talk and writing was difficult, so he needed her to make the contact. She set up a phone call between my brother and me where she read to me what he wrote and I responded. This brought me to the hospital and reunited me with the brother who so needed help.

During the past two months, she supported an effort to get him home again with much support. Later when more cancer was found and we knew he would not survive, she supported him and me in making the difficult decisions we needed to make. Sherry's effort to help my brother resulted in his having the comfort to have someone by his side during his final days and me having the opportunity to be with the brother I loved.
