Above all, Rachelle has a way of making children and families feel respected, loved, and important.
Nomination #1: Rachelle Foreman is our most senior GI nurse. I still remember her kindness and humor when I was a pediatric resident interested in GI almost 20 years ago, and again when I joined the Division 10 years ago. She is smart, funny, sharp-witted, and exceptionally compassionate with families. I know that she is committed to providing patients and families an exceptional experience, and always reaches out to treat them with personal care.
Nomination #2: Rachelle is a nurse who consistently demonstrates compassion and advocacy for her patients. She will routinely follow up to ensure that struggling patients are doing ok and have their medical concerns addressed, and also ensures that complex care is well coordinated. Above all, Rachelle has a way of making children and families feel respected, loved, and important. Her way of interacting with patients is a model for RNs in our group.
Nomination #3: I have worked with Rachelle for over 19 years. Throughout this time she has excelled as a GI nurse giving compassionate patient-focused care. Her commitment to her patients and colleagues is seen through her daily interactions. With a focus in IBD, Rachelle continually provides the highest quality team-based care. She has been a stalwart for GI and all her patients.
Nomination #4: I have known Rachelle for over 17 years in my work within the GI division. Rachelle embodies empathy. In her capacity as a very experienced and dedicated nurse, Rachelle always put her empathy with her patients as the driver for her outstanding care. She always took the perspective of where is my patient and their family coming from, and carefully considered the various aspects of their lives, their needs, and their challenges before framing the next steps in their care. In her current role on the Seattle Children's IBD Center team, Rachelle continues to deliver her wonderful care to our patients and advocate for the betterment of their lives. Rachelle is funny and talented. She also is a role model parent who taught me a lot. Rachelle embodies the spirit of The DAISY Award, I am grateful and lucky to work with her.
