While we were working on it my baby started turning blue and not breathing. Roxie immediately and calmly took action.
I was unexpectedly admitted for a C-section at 36 weeks due to preeclampsia. Roxie was the nurse who talked me through what the surgery would look like. She told me every step they would be taking from start to finish which really calmed my nerves. She was with me in the operating room. When they took my baby to get cleaned up she made sure to talk me through what they were doing and told me how good she was doing so I wouldn't worry. Roxie talked me through getting her latched on for breastfeeding. The next day I was so happy to see that Roxie would be my nurse again. She came in to help me with breastfeeding.

While we were working on it my baby started turning blue and not breathing. Roxie immediately and calmly took action. She got her breathing while calming me down. She took her to the nursery to see the doctor and allowed my husband to go with her. She got the baby stable and explained everything to my husband and me. She stayed with our baby in the nursery all night and gave us regular updates and let us visit whenever we wanted to. She even came in to check on our baby when she wasn't assigned to the nursery. It was indescribably comforting having her there knowing she cared about my baby and that she was keeping a close eye on her. She got us through the entire experience and we couldn't be more grateful.
