Penny received two nominations.
1: Penny called numerous pharmacies, house supervisors, hospitalists, Methodist staffing, and insurance companies for a patient’s prescriptions. The patient was so touched by her effort that she hugged Penny and thanked her. Penny went the extra mile and got a free trial dose for the patient.
2: Penny went above and beyond for a patient who could not afford her medication. She did not stop until she was able to provide samples to get her through! Had she not done this, the patient most likely would not have had an essential medication!
