I was having pain and there was a medication that I had always refused to take. Elizabeth knew it would help and gently convinced me to try one. Yes, it did help, and I thank her so much.
I have had many surgeries and many nurses over the years. Also, I'm a retired nurse so I very much understand the duties of a nurse. I have not had one day go by since leaving Saint Mary's that I have not thought of Elizabeth. She is the best and most capable nurse that I have ever had. For such a young nurse, I feel that she already has the experience of a much older nurse. I literally would trust my life to her. I broke my tib/fib in my right leg and developed compartment syndrome. As you can imagine, it was painful, but Elizabeth was so gentle and moving that way. She could position it so that it was comfortable, and always made me feel as if it was no big effort for her. I will never forget the day I had a traveling physical therapist who was pretty rough. Elizabeth was in the room and all I had to do was look at her and she very politely took over the placement of my leg. Also, I was having pain and there was a medication that I had always refused to take. Elizabeth knew it would help and gently convinced me to try one. Yes, it did help, and I thank her so much. Elizabeth had a great sense of humor which made my 2 1/2 weeks on that unit fun, and I will never forget her. For you, Elizabeth, I want to thank you for all you did for me and all you meant to me. I will never forget you! You are a very, very special person who has a large heart and an amazing amount of skill. I just want you to know that my husband thought very highly of you also. Thank you so much!
