Joanne takes the time to give 110% to every patient.
1. Joanne is an essential part of the perioperative team. Throughout the years that I have worked with her, Joanne has always gone above and beyond for her patients and coworkers. During “call” hours, she always stays with the PACU nurse to be an extra set of hands until the patient is transferred out of PACU. Joanne takes the time to give 110% to every patient. She gives exceptional reports to the PACU nurses and does all she can to ensure each patient is comfortable during pre-op to OR and OR to PACU transitions. Joanne is an extraordinary teacher/preceptor. She is patient and kind while training new OR nurses. She does not rush the training process; she ensures new nurses are comfortable and competent in each area prior to moving on. Joanne takes a hands-on approach to teaching, allowing new OR staff to experience positions that patients will experience during surgery. This allows staff to know first-hand how these surgical positions feel, resulting in keeping patients comfortable and free of injuries. Joanne Fowler is an extraordinary nurse!
2. Joanne “Jo” Fowler is an extraordinary nurse. Her wisdom, skills, and attitude add to Peri-Op services. Jo is willing to do whatever it takes to advocate for patients. She has been known to “stop-the-line” while running her room. She has a keen eye for anticipating care and intervening when necessary and is unafraid of push-back. Jo stepped in voluntarily to be the unofficial educator of the OR. She does this with grace and humility while ensuring new/all staff are competent in their skills. Jo also serves on mission trips, giving her time and talents freely. Thank you Jo!
