Stacey is a nurse at heart. Aside from being a motivated individual with a strong clinical background, she is caring and compassionate, a true patient advocate. Stacey is focused on the patient as a whole, their body, mind, and spirit. She goes out of her way to meet a patient's needs, whether it be medication to ease their pain, a warm cup of tea to help them prepare for the day ahead, or a warm washcloth to wipe their face after a long day. I want to describe Stacey as a person who is strong enough to tolerate everything but also soft enough to understand everyone. As a leader on the unit, she pushes everyone to be the best version of themselves by holding them accountable. She is always available for questions. She is approachable and never makes anyone feel silly for not knowing something. Stacey is thoughtful. One small act of kindness that I've witnessed her perform recently is donating clothes that some of our more unfortunate patients end up sometimes needing when they are discharged. We had a patient who had abdominal surgery and could not wear pants that would irritate her incision. Stacey grabbed the patient a dress from the clothes that she donated, and the patient was more than happy to wear it home. It is evident that she gives a little piece of herself to each and every patient that she cares for. Stacey is an inspiration and a role model to us all.
