Right away Victoria and my birth doula worked very hard with me to practice various techniques and positions to help my baby move into a better position.
I couldn't have gone through the birth of my child without Victoria. I was induced 10 days after my due date and I had to experience a whole series of interventions to help my baby come out. From having a Foley balloon to taking Mistoprosal, Pitocin, and epidural, to having my water broken, inserting a fetal monitor, getting Chorioamnionitis, and discovering that I have fibroids, my birth was a bit chaotic, to say the least.

I was in the hospital for several days during the induction process and I had the pleasure to meet my RN on the first or second day. We made an immediate connection as I learned that she was skilled with Spinning Babies techniques which is what I have been practicing for months with my birth doula. The reason is that my baby was not in the ideal position, he was “sunnyside up” which was causing me extreme back pains. I knew that only through Spinning Babies techniques would we be able to help my baby turn into a more favorable position.

After another day or two we were set up with a different nurse, whom we didn't connect well with. At the same time, my doctor told me that my baby hasn't been moving much all day and it was time to do a see section. I burst into tears because I was really hoping for a vaginal birth. I begged the doctor to assign Victoria as my nurse so she could help me turn my baby. Luckily Victoria was working, and she was assigned to me right away. The doctor gave us 2 hours to do what we needed to do before she declared a C-section. Right away Victoria and my birth doula worked very hard with me to practice various techniques and positions to help my baby move into a better position. It wasn't easy, to say the least, but you know what? 2 hours later I went from 4 centimeters dilated to 7 centimeters. The baby's new position helped me dilate. At that time the doctor was very happy with my progress and allowed us a few more hours to work toward active labor.

My RN continued to help me with great patience and encouragement and by the time a few hours passed I was 9.5 centimeters dilated and in active labor. I burst into tears again at this point but this time were tears of joy. My husband and I were beyond ecstatic that I got to try giving birth vaginally. My RN, my doula, and my husband helped me deliver my baby successfully and enjoyably. I couldn't stop crying with happiness. Thank you so much for all your patience knowledge and guidance during this very difficult time period you helped me have a vaginal birth, (with no tearing) and brought my baby safely into this world. I cannot thank you enough.
