Elaine was the highlight of my 6-day hospital stay. She's an energetic bunny! Elaine quickly responded to my calls but was also frequently in my room checking on me. Her manner, professionalism, and knowledge were outstanding. If she didn't know the answer she would find out or be on with the Dr. right away. She came in for the first time on day 4 and was the first nurse to talk about safeguards for my neutropenia- such as no flowers in the room (there were some) and only bottled water (I'd been getting it in the water container). Elaine is very personable, and we shared some family stories making me feel like more than just another patient. No task was too big or too small. She didn't say she'd get someone to do it, she just did it or made sure it was done. Thankfully she handled my discharge as there were a few bumps in the road with my meds and setting up future appointments. But she gave me updates every few minutes vs hours (different from my last hospital stay). Elaine explained all discharge instructions slowly, and in detail and made sure my daughters had all the information they needed. Elaine is one very passionate and dedicated nurse. I hope Kaiser knows how great she is!
