One of the best nurses at University Medical Center New Orleans is Whitney Foster. I am an IV drug user. Whitney treated me like a person and not like a drug user. That meant a lot to me because, even though I do IV heroin, I am still a person, I'm somebody's son, somebody's nephew, and somebody's father. I'm a good person, too. I have three beautiful kids who love me. I can tell Whitney really cares, this is her passion. She helped me with anything I needed help with. She is always on time with my medication. She also asked me if I'm ready to stop using and that she could help me, and point me in the right direction. We need more nurses like that. I really felt comfortable when she is here working. If I had a choice, I would choose Whitney Foster to take care of me while I'm here. I can tell that she loves nursing and she really cares. Whitney is a true DAISY Nurse.
