Nhi only took care of my sister-in-law 2 times, but she went above and beyond.
My sister-in-law was in the hospital months ago, but I did not know there was a DAISY Award program to nominate outstanding nurses until I visited my cousin in Parkland after a car accident and heard about it, so it is a late nomination. Nhi only took care of my sister-in-law 2 times, but she went above and beyond. She was so patient with my sister-in-law, who had Covid and had to deliver her baby sooner than expected, and her baby was in the NICU. My sister-in-law had a trach, and she took care of her very well, cleaned carefully, and monitored her very close because my sister-in-law was experiencing depression and anxiety since her baby was in the NICU. She even contacted the NICU nurses to have them come to my sister when they were available to update her on her baby's condition and share pictures with her, which helped my sister improve a lot. She also helped my sister set up the food tray and watched if she was able to eat by herself, and, if not, she helped her to make sure she got some nutrition. She checked my sister's skin and cleaned and moisturized her. She provided education about medication to my sister, me, and my brother. My sister-in-law would not have progressed and recovered that fast if she did not go above and beyond helping her patient get over some anxiety and depression with a simple touch. I wrote her a thank you letter when we left after asking for her full name, but she goes by Nhi as I see on the board.
