We have worked together on nights in the OR for over 7 years, and this email is long overdue. I have been an RN for 15 years and a CRNA for over 10 years and have never worked with a more dependable, pleasant, and outstanding OR nurse. Cliff's warm and friendly nature has an immediate relaxing effect on nervous preoperative patients. I have watched him remain positive, professional, and highly capable even in the most stressful, challenging, and exhausting situations. When there is a call for an emergency case, Cliff jumps into action and sets up the OR immediately. Innumerable times he has even come up to the L&D operating room to assist with equipment and cystoscopy. In the middle of the night, he willingly acts as our anesthesia assistant. He knows where our transport monitors and emergency supplies are located and is imperative to helping us provide timely and safe care in limited staffing situations. Cliff is a clear and effective communicator, which has been found to be one of the most important factors in preventing OR errors. He continuously checks in with the OR team throughout the case to make sure the patient is getting the best possible care. Without a doubt, I know that if I call Cliff from anywhere in the hospital, he will do whatever he can to help care for the patient. His reliability is very reassuring in emergency situations, especially when help is limited.
