When I was pregnant, we received a fatal diagnosis on our growing sweet baby girl. She never developed kidneys which meant she would never live outside the womb. Through the support of Cleveland Clinic, we made the impossible choice to have a compassionate induction. Going into the induction, one of my greatest fears was that I would feel judged or criticized for the choice we made that felt right for our family. The morning of the scheduled induction was full of emotions, and when we arrived, our little girl's heart rate was very slow, and we were informed she was passing. I don’t know how we would have gotten through the day without Stephanie. She was so kind, empathetic, and supportive. I never felt judged. We talked at great lengths about what our hopes and dreams had been for our sweet girl before we found out the diagnosis. She held my hand and made me feel like we made the right choice. She shared a personal story that I know bonded us forever. She listened genuinely, and I felt loved and cared for. When she could no longer find our baby girl's heartbeat, she cried and mourned with us. Stephanie made sure that I had everything I needed and wanted. She made an impossible situation just a little easier, and we will be forever grateful for the care we received.
