Claire went above and beyond, I felt so well cared for, safe, and listened to.
Claire was my midwife during the labour/birth of my third son, Theo. I was in the delivery suite on my own as my partner and I had decided he should stay as long as possible at home with our toddler. Not only was she so kind, sensitive, and friendly, Claire was so professional and diligent in my care. I was also cared for by a student midwife, Holly, who was wonderful. Claire was a great mentor to her, allowing Holly to observe and be involved in as much as possible; if I were a student midwife, I would feel very lucky to work alongside Claire.

Our first son, R, passed away after 8 days in the NICU at Homerton in 2019, and we have a little stuffed bear from the gift shop that I had brought with me. Claire was so thoughtful and asked if I’d like him out of my bag, and popped him in the incubator during my labour. When others would come into the room and ask about the bear, Claire would kindly mention our son. It was really heartwarming and an act of kindness that I won’t ever forget. Claire went above and beyond, I felt so well cared for, safe, and listened to. She also made me feel very comfortable and I spent a lot of my stay in delivery suite laughing, not something I expected to be doing during contractions! I could never thank her enough but would love to nominate her for a DAISY Award.
