I met this nurse three months ago when my husband was admitted for a brain injury after a fall from a golf cart while on vacation. She was our first-day nurse along with another nurse. It was a very traumatic time for our family, and she did everything she could to help us. She answered all of our questions and told us what she was going to do for my husband before she did it (changing meds, suctioning out his mouth, etc.). She just talked to us like we were friends. She took her time and made us feel comfortable. The two and half weeks my husband was in the ICU, we continued to have her as our nurse whenever she was working, and that always made our day! She was also there the day my husband died, and that was so comforting to us that she was there. She sat with us, held our hands, and gave us hugs. She really just went above and beyond for us, and I will always appreciate her kindness and generosity. Sam is an exceptional nurse and sets the standard for excellent care. She is an A+, gold star, amazing nurse, and we were lucky to have met her!
