When he was finally discharged, I missed my nightly chats with her. We had become friends.
Beth took FANTASTIC care of my son, S. She was on his care team, so we got to see her regularly. I knew I could trust her 100% and always felt at ease when she was there. I never worried about how he was doing when I went home for the night when she was there.
Not only did she take excellent care of him, but she also took great care of ME. She took the time to get to know me and learn about the rest of S's family. When he was finally discharged, I missed my nightly chats with her. We had become friends. S had MANY nurses during his lengthy NICU stay, but Beth is one in particular who stands out in the best way possible. She made sure all of our questions were answered; I never felt dumb asking her to repeat anything that a provider explained to us.
S has been in and out of the hospital numerous times since his NICU discharge, and Beth always makes it a point to stop by and see him when she's done with her shift. It's always great to see a familiar face when in the hospital. Beth will forever be part of S's journey and I hope others at Sanford know how much a gem she is!
