I didn’t get to hold him and give him a kiss. Morgan went above and beyond from this moment on.
I walked into the ER 29 weeks pregnant with my third child having abdominal pain. They quickly sent me up to Labor and Delivery to monitor the baby. Little did I know that my life would change drastically in the days following. I was admitted and went through some tests with no real answer on why I was still in so much pain.
Saturday morning, I was in excruciating pain and a lot of what came next is a blur to me. Morgan was with me through all of this, they rushed me into surgery for an emergency c- section. My baby was born that morning and went straight into the hands of God, and I now had to fight for my own life. I didn’t get to hold him and give him a kiss. Morgan went above and beyond from this moment on. She sat with my grieving husband when I couldn’t. She helped baptized my baby when I couldn’t be there. She took the time to take photos and put together a beautiful book for us to have. She also created a memory box for us with his little hat, outfit, and a few other things for us to remember him by. She also visited me even as I was transferred to the ICU to check in on me.
I will be forever grateful to the entire Labor and Delivery team, but especially Morgan. She is the true embodiment of what it means to be a nurse. She will always hold a special place in my heart
