Jessica always goes above and beyond for her patients. However, recently she was floated to be a PCT in our unit. She noticed another nurse having a difficult time with a patient and stepped in immediately and de-escalated an unsafe situation with the level head she always brings to any situation.

Weeks later, the same patient was readmitted and a family member had an episode of bowel incontinence and without missing a beat, Jessica stepped in to clean the woman up, cleaned her shoes, and got her new clothes. The woman was not even a patient. She could have simply given the woman a towel and wipes, but she ALWAYS goes above and beyond. The family member was so grateful.

And most recently we had a patient who was particularly inappropriate, hostile, and belligerent towards his nurse and Jessica, who was the charge nurse at the time, stepped in and volunteered to take the assignment, so her nurse did not have to be subjected to any more of the behavior. Jessica has a servant's heart and is a true asset to our unit. We are so lucky to have her!
