If I was a patient in Labor and Delivery, I would want Kimberlee as my nurse.
I would like to nominate Kimberlee, who is an extraordinary Labor and Delivery nurse. The care and compassion she has for all of our patients are values we want all our new Labor and Delivery nurses to have. Kimberlee is an invaluable resource to not only our staff members, but also to the patients who are lucky enough to have her as their nurse. If I was a patient in Labor and Delivery, I would want her as my nurse. I have seen Kimberlee take care of some of our sickest patients with the confidence and expertise only a seasoned nurse can have. During the peak of Covid, she was the primary RN for three women who delivered their babies in the MICU at main while on ventilators and suffering from multi-system problems related to Covid (not just being pregnant).
Kimberlee continually steps up to precept our new interns. She devotes countless hours to not only see to their initial education on our unit, but acts as a mentor throughout their first year. I have recently been with her while she was helping her intern take care of a very difficult patient. The patient had delivered at home, was on drugs, and had a very complicated health history. This patient was not your normal Labor and Delivery patient. Kimberlee helped her intern navigate through not only providing the highest quality care to this patient, but also seeing to her physiological and physiological needs. Kimberlee is truly an extraordinary nurse and needs to be recognized for all that she does.
