Brock is one of the most caring and compassionate nurses I know. He is also an amazing leader. I was with Brock for his first day as Charge Nurse, and he was there for me through a code violet, code blue, and code brown. I always know whatever the day may bring when I am working with Brock, we will get through it, and our patients will always receive the best care. He truly gives all of himself to the patients he cares for and is always trying to put a smile on their face or their family's face. He always treats his patients as if they were his own family. Brock is always willing to go the extra mile when it comes to advocating and caring for his patients. Brock especially cares for our Covid patients. Many of our patients are surrounded by strangers as they decompensate and eventually require intubation. Brock will always make sure that those patients are able to talk to their loved ones (likely for the last time) through either phone calls or FaceTime. Taking the time to allow these patients a moment with their families gives them comfort and oftentimes hope. One specific patient was a 19-year-old whom we had all cared very deeply for in the ICU. Brock had him as his patient the day he passed. Brock did everything he could to make that impossibly hard situation go as smoothly as possible. Brock strives to make sure he provides the best care to all of his patients. The way he talks to his patients puts them at ease. They trust him, and so do I. I know he is paying attention to all of the little details. Brock is a great nurse, and I am truly honored to work with him.
