My father came for a biopsy and we told them he had to take a nitro pill that morning for heart pain. He ended up being admitted to B5 cardiac floor. After two long weeks of an unsure plan, a team member called me to discuss open heart surgery. We were very scared because my daddy has low lung function. A couple nights before his surgery we had an SICU nurse named Shannon cover on B5. Shannon was amazing from the moment she walked in the door. She saw that we were nervous about the procedure and she offered to take me down and show me around. The information she had given me calmed my nerves and gave me some peace about the procedure. I feel that Shannon went above and beyond to make us feel that our dad was going to be in good hands and prepared us for what to expect. I will never forget our angel.
