My husband was admitted from the hospital’s ER after the advice of his doctor. He is being treated for lymphoma and had received chemo treatment 3 days before. I went to see him and he did not look good. A rapid response was called. They worked so quickly and diligently getting him on oxygen and taking him to the ICU. One nurse, Genevieve, came to talk to my son, daughter, and I. She told us she would be back to talk to us as soon as he was stabilized. She worked so hard to save his life. After some hours, Genevieve came to us. I couldn’t thank her enough for all she did and her humble response was simply, “It was the ICU team that did it”. She was so gracious, kind, caring, compassionate, and consoling. She truly was our earthly angel. She was not just doing her job above and beyond, she was using her nursing skills and her calling to humanity.

We will be forever grateful to Genevieve and the ICU team for saving my husband’s life and their amazing care for him those eight days in the ICU. Such dedicated people! I feel Genevieve was the leader of the team that day. She was also so attentive to my husband’s needs as well. We thank God for special extraordinary nurses like Genevieve. Some people come into our lives and leave their footprints on our hearts and we are never, ever the same. Genevieve made an enormous difference in our lives and we are forever grateful.
