Marianne was an incredible nurse and truly stood out head and shoulders above all the other nursing staff we worked with during our stay. The first morning I met her, she came in like an energetic, positive, and uber-competent whirlwind. I was SO grateful we got her. Our room was a mess. The first thing Marianne did was clean our entire room in about five minutes. She said she likes to get everything in order at the start, as it sets the tone for the rest of the day and it makes her patients feel much more at ease, and boy was she right. Decluttering our room and removing all the chaos quieted my mind so much.
From then on, she proceeded to be such a breath of fresh air, very genuine and so experienced. I loved my time with her and she is a true gem at Swedish. I felt like I was in safe hands and treated very respectfully by Marianne. I would hope my family and friends would get assigned to her, should they ever find themselves in the postpartum ward. She definitely upheld all the values listed above of compassion, justice, excellence, dignity, integrity, and safety. I particularly appreciated her for her excellence and safety experience.
