Throughout my stay, Nurse Antonio was extremely helpful and compassionate more than usual. When I was admitted I was supposed to be officiating at a friend's wedding and I was most upset that they were having to postpone a wedding that they had planned for that date. Also, in the space of 18 months, I had lost my husband of 55 years, my brother died at Christmas of a massive heart attack, I had to put my 15-year-old dog down, my sister was diagnosed with 6-18 months to live and I was under a tight deadline at work for completion of some government reports! Nurse Antonio came in, shut the door, and spent some time explaining how these things would pass in God's good time and that I needed to focus on getting well. With God's grace, the rest would follow. I can't say all that was said (not enough room) but when he left; I felt a great weight had been lifted from me as my spirits were lifted. It was like day and night. He always anticipated what was needed (a second call to the cafeteria as my food had not arrived yet). There were so many little things he did that made my stay tolerable. Nurse Antonio goes the extra mile and you should be grateful that you have an employee like him who shines a light on your hospital with compassion and caring.
