One will never hear Priscilla complaining about her duties while serving the needs of the Central Region’s Cancer Centers. This, all the while never refusing requests from other departments for staff relief.
There has been a vast deficit of Nurse Navigators for all of Hartford Healthcare’s Cancer Centers yet Priscilla has allotted extra time from her busy schedule to train numerous new hires. She is always willing to help other short-staffed nursing departments at the drop of a dime; however most notable is the time she actually rushed home to change into scrubs from her professional attire to return and assist the Infusion Unit midday. One will never hear Priscilla complaining about her duties while serving the needs of the Central Region’s Cancer Centers. This, all the while never refusing requests from other departments for staff relief, (which has obviously been constant these past 2 years for our strained healthcare system). She has shown commitment to the community in a way that is significantly above the norm by not only setting up monoclonal antibody infusion sites exclusively for COVID-19+ patients within MidState’s Emergency Room as well as at the Bradley Memorial Campus. But also by training the much-needed staff to operate them. In the complex realm of oncology nursing, Priscilla gives of her time on an almost daily basis by not only solely performing her full-time position as a Nurse Navigator yet as a part-time infusion/office nurse throughout the workdays into the evenings day & night – including occasional weekends!
