When my care was put in Hannah’s hands, I knew that I had the best nurse to help me achieve my VBAC. She was so encouraging and supportive.
I am a previous C-section patient, so with my second son, it was very important for me to try for a VBAC. Once labor began, I started to doubt if I could go through the process. With my first baby, I was not exactly sure why I had to have a C-section and I thought that my body just wasn’t capable since I stalled at 5cm and never progressed any farther.
When my care was put in Hannah’s hands, I knew that I had the best nurse to help me achieve my VBAC. She was so encouraging and supportive. Hannah always reassured me that I was going to be okay, even if we ended up having to have a C-section. She answered all of my questions, explained everything she was doing, and was always by my side. Hannah helped me during my epidural and my contractions. She put me in labor positions to help me dilate and to help baby descend. I loved how Hannah was so knowledgeable in labor positions. With my first, my water broke before I was having contractions; I wasn’t dilated at all. The other hospital just put me on Pitocin and left me alone. No one took the time to reposition me, there was no peanut ball used, there was no configuring the bed to position me, and there was not a lot of communication or education. I didn’t know to ask for those things.
This time was so different. Hannah’s professionalism and her communication with me, the anesthesiologist, and the doctor made me feel comfortable. She explained why she was doing everything she did and how it would help me progress in labor. When Hannah told me that I had made it to 7cm, I started crying with relief and joy. I know for a fact that if it wasn’t for Hannah’s compassion and knowledge, I would not have been able to achieve my VBAC. Hannah is truly amazing. Not only did I have a successful VBAC, but Hannah helped me heal from the previous trauma that left me feeling anxious about going into the hospital for the birth of my second son. I think that everyone should deliver their babies at Centennial; I am telling all of my friends and family to go there. Thank you so much, Hannah. Please never stop being such a sweet and caring nurse.
