Michelle works tirelessly and diligently to ensure our surgical patients are fully optimized and cleared for surgery.
Michelle has strong clinicals. Keep attention to detail and commitment to highest standard of care. I would get calls from her to follow up to make sure patients get to surgery. She accommodated Veterans multiple times with last minute notification needing pre-op evaluation. She is always willing to go above and beyond in providing care to the Veterans. She communicates information and education needed by the patient and family caregiver for a pleasant surgery process experience.
Also, her broad knowledge, exceptional work ethics, and willingness to motivate makes her an outstanding preceptor to new APRN’s that are transitioning to practice. Her outstanding skills in practice and teaching is really deserving of DAISY Awards. Michelle goes above and beyond for her patients in pre-op, ensures she communicates with the Veteran, and involves the Veteran in the plan of care throughout the pre-op process and ensures everyone in the Veteran's healthcare team is involved. Michelle works tirelessly and diligently to ensure our surgical patients are fully optimized and cleared for surgery. If we as navigator ever have and questions or concerns, she will patiently explain things to us. If a patient ever needs to be seen at the last minutes or get her past the appointment time, sshe does her best fit them in.
She is a great example of the ICARE value. Michelle Dunne NP has been working with the pre-op clinic for over 7 years and she is here 2 days out of the week and covers clinic when asked. Michelle is devoted to each veteran she comes in contact with. She is attentive, analytical, calm, friendly, and knowledgeable. She treats all with respect. She is a good listener, empathetic, and makes each patient feel cared for and mostly cared about.
