I had a patient that was here in the morning. This patient was soo very worried about his dogs and cats that had been left alone for a few days. He didn’t have anyone that could go to his house and check on animals and feed them so he could stay and get treatment. He was adamant on tending to his pets so he signed himself out AMA. Taylor paid for a cab so this patient could get a ride home, and called pharmacy when they told him that his meds would be an amount that he could not afford. She was able to work with the pharmacy to get this patient his meds until his SSI came in.

Later in the day the front desk called and said the patient was still waiting for a cab. So I just called Taylor to see name of cab company to try to get ahold of them to check the status. Taylor had already left for the day and said she would check on it. So next thing a while later, Taylor called my work phone to tell me that she came back up to the hospital and found the patient in the waiting room and stayed with him until the cab came and picked him up. She went above and eyond the call of nursing duty for this patient. We are lucky to have Taylor as a nurse here at EH! Thank you, Taylor!
