There are so many stories about how Alyssa makes an impact on both her patients, as well as all of the staff members that she works with, that it is hard to choose just one. Alyssa is energetic, kind, hardworking, and is always putting patient care above everything.

There was an instance where a patient's family member was upset that their loved one had not yet had a shower that day. While the patient's family member was not very polite and was in the wrong about the situation, Alyssa took time out of her extremely busy schedule, as she was both working on the floor, as well as working as the nursing supervisor that day to shower that patient. Alyssa is never above any task. She could have easily told the patient's family member that the shower wasn't going to happen today or handed the shower off to a nursing tech, but because of her strong character, initiative, and dedication to patient care, she showered that patient by herself to satisfy that patient and family need.

Alyssa makes patients feel at home and valued while they stay at our hospital. They are not a number to Alyssa, or just another room to pass meds to, she treats them like a friend and a teammate and I know for sure that ultimately her care is why our patients are able to reach their goals.
