Camilla embodies the essence of a nurse, compassion, wisdom, loving-kindness, caring, and knowledge in her interactions with fellow nurses, VA staff, and the Veterans. As the DLO, she facilitates educational opportunities for the Nursing Staff that are evidence-based and relevant to our population. This allows our nursing staff to give high-quality, evidence-based care to our Veterans. She takes the time with each staff member she is interacting with to identify their true educational need. She then provides guidance to empower the staff member to meet their goal through education and mentorship. Throughout the COVID experience, Camilla has demonstrated professionalism, dedication, and caring for the Veterans. She has done this by picking up shifts from being a sitter, a screener, ICU RN, or any other position that is needed. She does this with kindness and unwavering dedication to our Veterans and our staff. We are blessed by her contributions to our health system and she truly is a DAISY Nurse.
