I was told the patient wanted to speak to the manager. So I walked in and he started telling me about his family and their careers in the medical field. He even told me about his own experience as a radiology tech. Then he went into his medical story he recently had three strokes, he got COVID, and his high blood pressure has been unmanageable for several years despite medication. He went on to say that he has worked with and seen many healthcare professionals and that Ashley was impressive. He stated she was respectful, thorough, patient, and very kind. He was so touched that she took her time identifying each medication with the name and a brief description. I agree with this patient, I think Ashley is a wonderful nurse, a great team member, and continuously working on her skills. She has been a huge asset not only to the MICU but to nursing.
