He made it his goal to make us comfortable in every way during my husband's stay at UC. James is a very kind, caring, and pleasant human being.
My husband has been healthy all his life. He was rushed to ER with chest pains and was not able to breathe. So you can only imagine our concerns, worries, and surprise when we were told of his diagnosis of a lung clot and heart failure after 8 plus days of many tests and procedures. When we received the news, James was also in the room. He came back after the doctors left to ask if we were okay and if we needed anything. His concern and care were very touching. He witnessed us in a vulnerable state and when we were upset and crying with the news we were given. And he made it his goal to make us comfortable in every way during my husband's stay at UC. James is a very kind, caring, and pleasant human being. He is right where he needs to be in his choice of career.

His passion for patient care has shone brightly in all that he has done. And he never hesitated in caring for my husband. Even when it was not part of his job's task. Example: one of many I could give: My husband started a fast at midnight, and the test kept getting pushed back. Obviously causing him to fast longer than originally required. James made sure my husband had a hot meal ready as soon as he was back in his room and ready to eat. Because of times and circumstances, my husband had gone almost 24 hours without eating, needless to say, he was very hungry. The food services for ordering closed at 7 pm. But James took over and made sure my husband had a hot meal and extra servings. James is the best example of above and beyond and what a nurse should be.
