I underwent a routine hysterectomy and pelvic floor repair at another hospital. I ended up having major complications related to bleeding. I was referred to the Hematology Clinic at Johns Hopkins Hospital for my disorder. Claire was instrumental in helping me navigate all of the labs and answered all my questions along the way. This year, I found out I was going to be having another procedure that carried more bleeding risks. I immediately reached out to the Hematology team for plans. Claire was kind, patient, and extremely communicative. She called me for clarification and really listened to my concerns. She messaged me and called me a few more times to help ensure my care plan was specialized and tailored to my unique situation.

After surgery (which took place at a different hospital) I tried to explain that the medication was not to be crushed, but I was not being heard. I was able to reach out to Claire quickly and verify that crushing the medication was not recommended! I am beyond grateful to Claire for her attention to details, compassion, and dedication to her patients. Claire makes you feel like you are her only patient, despite juggling a clinic, doctors, and countless other complex patients. I know and trust that if I reach out with an issue or concern, Claire will respond as soon as she can. Trust and respect are the cornerstone to great nurse/patient relationships!
