Greg truly makes each team member feel valued and appreciated.
Greg is a shining example of everything a nurse leader should be! He goes above and beyond for his team every day and is very dedicated to the unit. He won't hesitate to help with patient care or charge the unit when needed (day and night!) He truly makes each team member feel valued and appreciated. I had the pleasure of working with the leadership team while I was on light duty related to pregnancy complications and I was in awe of his tireless work ethic, kindness, and can-do attitude.
When management was needed on the floor due to critical staffing, he never complained once. He never hesitated to go where he was needed to ensure the unit was running smoothly and our patients were well cared for. He is understanding, approachable, and a natural problem-solver. Greg has all of the qualities of an excellent nurse leader, and all of us at Tacoma General ICU are lucky to have him around.
***
Greg is a pillar of strength, kindness, willingness to help, reliability, and excellence. During the many COVID surges, when staffing was at crisis levels he would come in and charge the NTICU and the NTPCU (sometimes at the same time) on night shift so that the staff would be supported and not have to take more patients than what is safe for an ICU nurse to take care of. He continued his work as an ANM while also taking charge shifts to help with staffing. He did this for months, without complaint to support the staff of the unit. Greg is an example of what a great leader is. He cares about and supports the people around him, with a smile and a kind word.
