We never once had to ask for anything, Cynthia checked in on her often and knew Mom’s needs before we even did.
My Mother had a lobectomy due to cancer approximately 2 months ago and a 30-day hospital stay afterward along with 2 other re-hospital stays all at another hospital before we decided to make a change to Helen Keller for this hospitalization. Honestly, from the time we wheeled her into the ER, everyone provided great care. However, one nurse went way above and beyond to care for Mom and her name is Cynthia.

We never once had to ask for anything she checked in on her often and knew Mom’s needs before we even did. One day Cynthia noticed a change in Mom’s behavior and her heart rhythm and immediately reached out to the doctor and had extra tests done. Cynthia took even more extra time with her to help capture on EKG exactly when the abnormality was occurring as well as the frequent check-ins just to check on Mom emotionally and hold her hand.

Cynthia is truly the definition of a nurse and hero. She is not only very gifted with wisdom for the job, but she also has the most important thing, a caring and compassionate heart. Mom calls her “her angel.” We could never thank her enough.
