I have been working as a CNA for the past 4.5 years at a different hospital. I recently has my nursing capstone with Mallory Belinsky in the Cardiac Medical Critical Care Unit. I have worked with hundreds of nurses and she is one of the best i have ever worked with. Over the course of my time being trained by her I witnessed her be the utmost professional and kind to patients who were yelling at her and threatening to fight. She just continued to provide such nurturing care for them while balancing the care for another critically ill patient who was very unstable.

We had another patient who was extremely difficult to handle and had fired multiple nurses prior toh is working with her. Mallory was able to break any tension the patient had created and not only was able to get the patient to allow her to care for them, they actually liked her and trusted her. I know this doesn't sound like much but if you were able to see the change she made in this patient's attitude and wellbeing, you would understand how big of a deal and difficult that really was. When the physicians had to have a very difficult conversation with them, they wanted her to be there with them. She was also able to do all of these things while managing other critical patients and teaching me great nursing skills and being an example of how a great nurse should conduct themselves. Her kindness and compassion have shown through every patient she cares for as well as her colleagues.

There was a consistent flow of other nurses on the unit asking for advice and help and she was always so willing to invest in them as well. Mallory personifies the traits that embody what the ideal nurse she is. She is skilled, caring, compassionate, and a great mentor.
