Joseph Opbe is our senior RN who works on night shift. Joseph has been working at Parkland Hospital as a bedside RN for the past 15 years. He just recently celebrated his 15-year anniversary at Parkland. Joseph is frequently mentioned by his coworkers for great teamwork and being always welcoming to the new and floating employees on our unit. His patients remember his name and mention him as a compassionate and patient nurse who goes above and beyond for his patients. Joseph never ignores a request to assist with a patient or to help with staffing when the need arises. He is a professional nurse who sets an example for the new RNs to follow. Joseph exemplifies the ICARE values of our organization during his care for our patients.

Just recently, there was a trauma patient who had sustained several life-debilitating injuries. The patient was a young man who was scared and depressed due to a loss of independence and mobility. Joseph spent a lot of time in the patient's room to make sure that the patient had received all the care and attention to his needs. The patient's family told me that they were always at peace at home if they knew Joseph was their son's RN. Joseph's kind and compassionate care for his patients do not go unnoticed by the families. Joseph is a hard-working nurse who dedicates his skills, his love, and his experience to providing top-notch care for our patients and community.
